Matthew 7:21-23 NLT

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Christians can think that since they are Christians, they will surely go to Heaven. But it clearly says here that even if you spent your whole life doing ministry, preaching to millions, saving lives, healing people, it is still possible that you will not go to Heaven.

Or maybe you are the type of Christian who is sick and tired of God not supporting your ministry, so you just stopped ministering altogether.  And now you are angry at God, or angry at your church because you are working so hard but it seems no one is supporting your ministry.

It is obvious from these verses that the only ones who will go to Heaven are those whom God knows. Those who have a relationship with God. Those who never forgot their first love for God. Those who cherished that first love for God. Those who nourished that first love for God. Who made it grow, and kept doing everything in their mind, heart, soul and strength to keep the first love for God burning hotter and hotter in their lives.

I pray you would become this kind of Christian. That you would go back to your first love for God.  Just like Mary and NOT like Martha.  This is the only desire God has for all of us. To love Him with ALL of our heart, ALL of our mind, ALL of our soul, ALL of our strength. And to love our neighbor as ourself!

Please do not believe the devil that the reverse is true: Good works first, then spending time with God later, if you have time left.

Doing good works is just secondary.  It is not the main point of Christianity. Doing good works will just naturally come out of your desire to do it because of your strong loving relationship with God!

If you think you are one of these Christians who is decieved by the devil, I pray right now that the deception be lifted and that by the blood of Jesus you would be set free! Amen!
