Proverbs 19:18  Discipline your children while there is hope. Otherwise you will ruin their lives.

Whenever I am asked this question, “how are your kids doing?”, I am always reminded of how God taught me to discipline them, even starting at the first sign of disobedience when my son was just 5 months old. I am very thankful that God gave me parenting mentors. They taught me how to correctly discipline my children using God’s wisdom in the Bible.  Now I can see my kids growing up, still like any other normal kid, sometimes too playful and too rowdy, but they are easily disciplined with the Word of God because they have learned early in life how God loves them so much.

If your answer to this question is somewhat disappointing, you really have to look on how you have disciplined your children. I know it is a very tough thing to do, but it is the only wise thing to do at this point.

It is never too early or too late to start disciplining and pointing our children towards God’s love and God’s Word. Whether they are just 5 months old or already 75 years old. As long as they are still alive, God can still lead them towards the GREAT LIFE God has made ready for them. We just need to believe God will. We need to do what God says in trying to discipline them. Be full of love, full of compassion, full of patience, full of thankfulness, full of forgiveness and full of humility while doing it. We need to swallow our pride a lot of times in this. We need to be thankful that our kids are still alive and there is still hope. It seems impossible to do but I am telling you it is doable. God will give you the strength. Just do it!

Do not let the devil continue to play around with your children’s lives. God has given you the power to stop the devil’s schemes. Just believe God’s Word and keep using it and doing it!

Let God do the work in your children. All you need to do as parents is try to “nudge” them towards the right direction as often as possible. And the “right direction” has and will always be, towards Jesus Christ, God’s Word.

I thank You Holy Spirit that right now you are empowering us parents with love, patience, faith, thankfulness, humility and compassion. You are now enabling us to discipline our children with Your blessings and Your Word. You are now restoring our hearts towards our children, and you will restore our children’s hearts towards You and towards us. Thank You Lord Jesus for providing us your Holy Spirit, your Bible, and your church, whom we can always run to for help and strength. Thank you Jesus Christ for your cross has assured us these blessings! Amen! 🙂
