Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV84

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7 NIV84

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV84

I was having my devotional time this morning with the kids and the topic was about “Life is like a Jigsaw Puzzle.” If you want to finish a 2,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, you should not give up, you should not quit!

Same with the challenges we face in life. We should not quit until we become victorious over a challenge.

I am also reminded of a movie we watched recently entitled “It’s A Wonderful Life.” It is a classic 1946 movie by Frank Capra starring James Stewart.

Life becomes easy and wonderful with God. All we have to do is take one day at a time and not quit on Him! In each day, try to look for the blessings from God instead of the hardships from the devil. For every challenge, just keep on asking God for help. God will surely give you a way out!

P.S. Synopsis of the movie “It’s A Wonderful Life.” Warning: the following has “spoilers.” Also a lot of details was taken out of the following narration thus watching the whole movie would be a lot better experience.

James gave up almost all of his life’s dreams because he had to take care of his dad’s business and his younger brother’s schooling. To do that, he had to go against the most powerful man in town, Mr. Potter, who was trying to monopolize the town’s power with his businesses.

James kept on fighting each day, trying to do good to the townsfolk until finally after a decade or more, Mr. Potter was able to put him in a desperate situation to destroy his life, his reputation, and his business. Mr. Potter is finally going to eradicate the one thing that is stopping him from taking over their town.

James could not find any other way to get out of this final battle so he thought of committing suicide. On Christmas eve, he got drunk and went to the frozen bridge and jumped into the frozen river.

But while James was wallowing in his defeat, all his friends in town found out about his situation and kept on praying for him. God answered their prayers and James finally saw the great blessings of LIFE that God has been giving him everyday.

With God, we realize that we have a WONDERFUL LIFE!
