Matthew 4:3 NLT

I believe that the devil’s first strategy of attacking us is shown in this first attack on Jesus. Maybe it is even the most effective attack he has on us, since it is the style of attack he used on God Himself!

What the devil did here was to keep challenging Jesus’ identity. The devil keeps saying “if you are the Son of God.” The devil was trying to make Jesus believe that he was not the Son of God.

Take a moment now and think back in your past. Have you ever challenged your identity? Have you ever heard the words “See you sinned again, you will always be falling into that sin! God cannot help you!”, or “You are not a true Christian, just look at what you have done, you lied again!”, or “You will not be able to do great things with your life, just look at your current situation. You could not even lead one person to Christ!”, or “You will never become prosperous and successful! You could not even find a job!”

These are all the voice of the devil. It is his most effective way to destroy our lives. STOP BELIEVING IN THE DEVIL! START BELIEVING IN WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE! START BELIEVING IN THE BIBLE!

God says in the Bible: You are more than a conqueror! You can do all things through God who gives you strength! Nothing is impossible for those who believe! You are chosen, a royal priest, a child of God! God loves you so much He allowed himself to be tortured to death! Nothing can separate you from the love of God! God has great, wonderful, unimaginable plans laid out for your life! God has plans to prosper you and not to harm you!

Do not let our bad feelings and emotions get the better of us! But instead, let us keep running to God, believing and confessing who He has made us in Christ!

C’mon! Who would you rather believe?! God who is the most powerful being alive, who has sacrificed so much to show His love for you, who has done nothing bad but always good for you?  Or the defeated, deceiving, lying, destroying devil? I say, may we all believe in God! Let us do everything we can to make sure that we will always believe in God!I believe that the devil’s first strategy of attacking us is shown in this first attack on Jesus.
