I saw one of the best and simplest presentation of the gospel in the movie “Clancy.” A little girl named Clancy, (who was verbally and physically beaten everyday by her only relative who is a drunkard, her mom) was presenting it to a big “Special Forces” veteran street-bum man. The veteran was blaming God for allowing his life to go down the drain.
Actually Clancy should also be naturally angry at God and blaming God for her worse situation, but instead she happily continued to love God, love and care for her drunkard mom and also share God’s love to others. How did she do it?
Before her grandma died, she was able to teach Clancy what God did for us through Jesus Christ. Clancy understood it at a young age and never forgot about the great love of God for her and everyone else. She understood that the worse thing that can happen to her is die, and yet God has already made dying a good thing, that is when she dies, she would finally live in the best place possible, in Heaven. Since God has already given her the best gift and blessing possible, nothing can bother her anymore. No hardship or trouble can stop her from loving God, and sharing God’s love to other people.
God is always there. God is always with you. God has already prepared everything so that you would have a great life. We just need to continue thinking about His love through Jesus Christ, believing in Him and doing what He taught us to do. Godliness assures us of a great life.
I pray that we would get the same revelation from God. I pray we would never focus on the bad things that are happening or may happen to us. Let us instead focus on the greatest gift that God has given to us, and that nothing can separate us from the love God has already given to us, whatever the circumstance may be. And that our hearts would overflow with gratefulness and it would just be natural for us to tell other people how great God’s love is for them too! Just like Clancy. Amen!
2 Timothy 1:7-10 NLT
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord … With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. 9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 10 And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.
