John 10:10-14 NLT – 10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.12 A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he isn’t their shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock.13 The hired hand runs away because he’s working only for the money and doesn’t really care about the sheep.
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,15 just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.
Jesus showed His ultimate goal in dying on the cross for us. He is like a good shepherd who would sacrifice his own life for the sheep. We are his sheep! That is how much Jesus loves you! He left the great place of Heaven to become a man on earth, to feel all the pain, rejection, beating, whipping, torture, and a slow painful death on the cross, just to give you and me a RICH and SATISFYING LIFE. A life to the MAX!
That is how God loves you. I pray you would always remember and feel God’s love for you. Meditate on this and just let your love pour out back to God. It greatly pleases God if you also pour out your love back to Him. It is how He created us. It is the main reason He created us. That He pours out His love on us, and we pour out our love back on Him.
Imagine you are a dad taking out your son to the playground to play. You run around with your son playing tag. You play on the sandbox and get dirty together. You ride on the see-saw, finding out you need to sit nearer the center of the board because you are much more heaver. You kept on sliding together on the slides. You rent a bike and ride together. At the end of the day, you and your son walk home, take a bath, eat together talking about the day, and then you tuck your son in bed. You see your son smile and say, “Dad, you are a great dad!” How would you feel? Me, I would be so happy I would make sure to give my son more love!
It is the same with God. He is our Daddy God. If you just spend some time with him, knowing all the things He has done to love you, you would naturally say, “God, I love you so much.” Then God would be so elated He would just love on you more!
With God as your loving dad, you are unstoppable!
Prayer Starter: Father God, I decide starting today, to spend more and more time, trying to study your Word that shows the things that you did for me, showing how much you love me. I know starting this new habit would be a battle, so please help me start well. Thank you Jesus for showing me God’s great love for me. That is a great start. I love you Jesus. Amen.
