Hebrews 11:1,:3 AMP1 NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.

In life, we ALL face storms, but having “genuine faith” makes you STORM PROOF. Having “genuine faith” moves mountains of problems out of the way, even if your faith is as small as a grain of sand. Having “genuine faith” keeps you running in life without getting weary, walking and enjoying life without tiring, flying on wings like eagles and seeing problems down on earth that is actually very small, even if it was as big as Mt. Everest when you were on the ground. Having “genuine faith” is the fountain of youth and unending joy that every person dreams of having.

I was recently reminded by God of what is the “genuine kind of faith”. I was reminded that I had faith which were the “false kind”. From God’s Word in the verses above, it is clearly defined what “genuine faith” is.

1. I should be sure that God’s Word is true and is the reality.

God’s Word says it is like having a title deed for a piece of land. Having the title deed, I am sure the land is mine, even though I do not see it, or touch it, or whatever circumstances arise, IT IS MINE.

Same with any of God’s promises. For me to have “genuine faith”, I should be sure that His Word is true, and is the final reality, even if the circumstances show otherwise.

Some 3-4 years ago, God showed me in His Word that our government was created to promote justice, especially to the weak and poor. If it is not that way, God told me that I should go and minister to them His love, HIs provision, and His acceptance. This was “Mission Impossible level 2,500!” for me to do before, but God Himself did something to me to change me. So now, whenever I deal with government officials, even if I SEE and HEAR that they are corrupt, God’s Word is more true. I treat my government officials with God’s love, provision and acceptance (and at the same time not agreeing to do any kind of corruption), knowing that they would promote justice without any bias on my every deal.

If I give in to corruption even a little bit just to close the deal, then I am not believing that the promise IS MINE. That is not “faith”.

2. The promise that IS MINE, should NOT BE VISIBLE, or NOT DISCERNIBLE TO ANY OF MY SENSES.

If the promise I am believing to be mine already has some visible proof that it is mine, then it is not “faith”.

For example, if I wait first to see an example of a government that is not corrupt before I would believe God’s Word, then that is not “faith.”  Or if I HEAR about the government official I will be talking to is not corrupt, then I come to him believing that he promotes justice, then that is not “faith.” But it is surely a good situation! Although in this case, faith is not needed anymore, thus it is not called faith.

So the next question that pops into my mind is, HOW DO I GET GENUINE FAITH? How can I believe something that I cannot see, taste, smell, hear, or feel? How can I believe God who says by Jesus’ whips I WAS HEALED when I am still coughing and sneezing and expelling phlegm? What did God do to me 3-4 years ago that made me believe without quitting that my government will promote justice as I deal with them?

God’s Word also showed me the answer! In Romans 10:17 AMP – So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).

So all I had to do was to keep hearing preachings (i.e. teachings, revelations) of Jesus Christ’s words! What God did to me 3-4 years ago was to place me in a situation wherein I could LISTEN and UNDERSTAND Jesus’ words every free time I get in every day I have for 2 months! But it only took around 3 days for me to get hooked to Jesus’ words. After that, I became a junkie for His words. I kept wanting to have more each passing hour of each passing day. And genuine faith just came naturally! Love for God came naturally! Victory over a bad addiction for 35 years of my life came naturally! I did not need to go through any rehab program, or self-help program. All I had to do was spend my time hearing and understanding God’s loving words!

What Jesus said in John 6:28-29 is really true! The only work God requires of us is to believe in the life and words of the One whom God has sent! Nothing else! God wants us to do that one thing because it makes us have the right kind of faith!

Thank you Jesus for enabling me to know what “genuine faith” can do for me, to know what “genuine faith” really is, and to acquire such a kind of faith. It is all your work Lord. All I had to do was to listen and understand. And the result is everlasting peace, everlasting joy, and a storm proof life! Thank you for your great love for me. Plus, your finished work is not just for me to have such faith, but for all people to have “genuine faith!” I pray for my wife, my son, my daughter, and every person I encounter, that they would receive the same (or even much more!) gift of faith from you every single day, in Jesus’ mighty name, amen!
